Excellence is not something we set out to achieve. It is in the very fabric of who we are, and everything we do stems from this identity.

Excellence is not something we set out to achieve. It is in the very fabric of who we are, and everything we do stems from this identity.

Who we are

Cedar is a Performing Arts School in Dartford, Kent, offering tuition in musical theatre, dance, acting and vocals. An exciting and encouraging environment to be in, where every student is highly valued as an individual, and encouraged to flourish in their own creative identities. Our primary goal is to foster an environment of freedom in imagination, innovation, and artistry; where students are nurtured and grow in their passion for the performing arts. We provide a positive and encouraging environment, a healthy context for students to learn the values of persistence, and the discipline required to realise their full potential.

Our belief is that people are always capable of more, and that the arts should be at the forefront of mankind’s capabilities. The industry is also notorious for being relentlessly competitive and discouraging to work in, which we find unnecessary and unhelpful to its development. By providing a safe, encouraging environment for young people to try, fail and grow in, our hope is that students would flourish and subsequently redefine boundaries. Our hope is that our ethos will be taken into the performing arts industry where it will eventually become standard practice.

We look forward to welcoming you at Cedar.
